Sometimes visiting a church for the first time can be a stressful experience. We want you to feel welcome when you come to First Baptist. Let us share some information concerning your visit with us.
Directions
First Baptist Church is located at 94 S. Gaston St. in downtown Brevard. The church is one block off Main Street.
From Asheville: Travel to downtown Brevard on Highway 64 (Asheville Highway/North Broad Street). Once you reach the main intersection (64 and 276), take a left at the second traffic light onto Morgan Street (landmark:old Brevard Post Office). Go one block, and the church is located on the left.
From Greenville: Take 276 north (Greenville Highway/East Main Street) to the main intersection (Highway 64 and 276). Turn left onto South Broad Street. Go to the second red light and turn left onto Morgan Street (landmark: old Brevard Post Office). Go one block, and the church is located on the left.
From Rosman/Highland/Cashiers: Take 64 north (Rosman Highway/South Broad Street) into downtown Brevard. Turn right onto Morgan Street (landmark: old Brevard Post Office). Go one block, and the church is located on the left.
Parking
Parking is available in across from the sanctuary on Gaston Street, and diagonal to the church education building on Jordan Street (across from The Quarry and Big Mike's Pizza). There is also a covered entrance area to drop off passengers during inclement weather in the alley behind the sanctuary, accessible from Morgan Street.
Dress
People attend our church in both casual and business attire. During the summer, we emphasize casual dress for all, but business attire is also acceptable. Our concern is not for a person's appearance, but that they feel welcomed while at First Baptist.
Greeters
Our ushers and greeters want to help you have a warm welcome to our church, but we do not want to "overwhelm" you. A welcome packet and communication card will be given to you when you visit. By sharing your information with us, we can minister to you without being intrusive in your life.
Childcare
Childcare is available for Sunday School and Sunday Morning Worship on the first floor of the Education Building. Our experienced nursery staff provides each parent with a pager so they can be contacted if needed. We also provide childcare for all church-wide events and ministries unless otherwise noted. Cafe FBC
Most of the months of the year, we have Cafe FBC from 10:30 a.m. to 10:50 a.m. on Sunday mornings. This is an informal time where people can "meet and greet" with our church family. Coffee and juice are served, and guests are encouraged to attend.
