Ministries for Senior Adults

  Young at Heart Trip

One of the ministries at First Baptist that is particularly geared toward senior adults is our Young at Heart group.

Young at Heart

The primary purpose of Young at Heart is to provide Christian fellowship opportunities to the senior adults in our church. We meet the second Tuesday of each month during the school year (September-May) for a covered dish luncheon and some serious fun in the fellowship hall. We are an informal group; there are no dues, membership rolls, bylaws, or elected officers. We do have volunteer captains, who coordinate items such as tea and bread, meat, devotionals, door prizes, clean-up, and decorations. Anyone can become a captain, and anyone may attend our meetings. Please join us soon!

Why Young at Heart?

  • Celebrations - birthdays, anniversaries, accomplishments
  • Great Food - new dishes, wonderful cooks
  • Christian Fellowship - members and guests
  • Door Prizes - valuable, expensive, "treasures"
  • Meaningful Devotions - timely, worshipful, inspiring
  • Prayer Time - praises, requests
  • Entertainment - storytelling, skits, vocalists, instrumentalists
  • Excursions - plays and musicals, gardens and historical sites, near and far, and more
